The Beijing Referees Society
The Beijing Rugby Referees Society has been organized to help provide referees for all rugby actvities in Beijing and greater China, including men’s, women’s and youth matches. The society provides referees for all Devils home games and we do our best to show our appreciation by volunteering some of our members as referees, touch judges and volunteers at local tournaments and games. We’re lucky to have a dedicated organisation of referees in the Beijing area – if you’re interested to be come involved, please contact beijing.rugby.refs@gmail.com or join our Facebook page
Bohai or Bust Charity Bike Ride
Saturday 3rd April 2010
On Saturday 3rd April 2010, seventeen intrepid Devils members participated in the Bohai or Bust Charity Great Wall Bike Ride to raise money for The Mutianyu Schoolhouse’s local charity and sustainability projects. In total, 160 bikers took on three separate cycling routes, with the Devils all opting for the ‘moderate’ (read ‘gruelling’) 64km mountain route. Team BD acquitted themselves extremely well, with four riders (Graeme ‘thighs of steel’ Ker, Josh ‘thighs of lycra’ Kernan, Alun ‘thighs of Willow’ Richards and Jeannie ‘thighs of a cow’ Ivanov) making it back to Bohai amongst the top 10 riders in the group (not that it was a race, but we became rather competitive nonetheless). To find out more about next year’s event visit the Bohai or Bust website…
