The She Devils went into their final game of the tournament, to decide the third placed team, still perky despite the bruising encounters against Nanjing and Anhui (testament to a big fitness push prior in recent months). They took the initiative immediately against a depleted Shanghai outfit and dominated the game from start to finish, putting six neat tries past Shanghai and playing some champagne rugby down the hands.
Jane Cheung opened the socring with a powerful run to the corner before captain Ivanov expelled some of her frustrations from the previous match with a hat trick of tries, all duly converted by Bridget Madell. Bridget also capped a faultless comeback tournament with a trey of her own, making the defensive line look silly with a dummied pass and a burst right through the misslde of the field. Jill Glover, who was consistency personified throughout the tournament, finished off the game with a strong try and the She Devils were able to head to the bar with a result that is proff of their improivement since last year, when Shanghai put a similar socre past them.
