The final game of the day was one of two halves: both teams mixed up their squads and, despite the Devils starting with a strong and experienced seven on te pitch it was ISB who opened with more determination and energy, scoring two quick tries to leave the red team on the back foot.
However, solid rucking and defence from debutant Jasmin and tireless running from Lucy Francis, playing at scrum half for the first time, gradually allowed the She Devils to come back into the game. The She Devils squandered a penalty opportunity in an excellent position just before half time but by then they had pulled a try back through the ever-excellent Fiona Boyle.
In the second half they rang the changes, making use of their strength in depth, and their patience paid off as ISB began to make a series of offside errors and give away sloppy penalties.
Their persistent attacking finally paid off when Fiona Boyle ran in her second try of the day, bulldozing at least three tackles and body checking a fourth in the process, from long range, and the She Devils were firmly in the ascendancy. Ivanov duly converted with the final kick of the game and the Devils deservedly took the game 19-10.
