The Beijing Devils knew they were in for a battle and in order to be successful they would have to be focused from the kick-off. With swinging arms, no wrap/late/high tackles and head massages, it seemed like the Brothers were more interested in a school yard scrap rather than playing rugby. Fortunately, the Devils responded with an aggessive but disciplined game and the points began to add up.
The second half began much the same way with the Devils maintaining discipline and scoring points. Unfortunately the Devils, perhaps confident of a win, began losing concentration on executing the game plan and decided to delve a bit more into the man to man combat. As a result, the overall game deteriorated somewhat. A definite positive on the day was that both teams played with a lot of heart and intensity (something glaringly absent from the Devils when they played the Aardvarks a few weeks back). One thing is certain, the addition of the Beijing Brothers will definitely ensure the Beijing Cup will be hotly contested this year!
